Be sure to check out the Plant Calendar found under the Education tab above for the right plants to use during the summer months. Invariably, we see people unknowingly plant cabbage or broccoli in summer which are cold weather crops and will not mature in the heat. Also, these Cole crops, such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts often get aphids during the summer and turn rotten so remove them now to avoid infecting your summer crops. Spend the first 15 minutes simply pulling weeds each time you come to the garden so that you can keep them under control…a few minutes each time will avoid a disaster later on. Happy Planting!
