Hello Members,

We would like to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

NOVEMBER WORK PARTY:  Remember that 2 of the 4 required hours are required to be performed or paid for by December 31.  If the 2 hours are not completed by Dec 31, you will automatically be given an extra 2 hours for required community service for a total of 6 hours due by April 30, 2023.  Hope to see you at 7:15 AM on November 5.

THANKSGIVING DRIVE:  Beginning next week, we are accepting donations for our yearly Thanksgiving drive. Every year we take donations to the Long Beach Mission. The last day to donate is this Tuesday, November 22 at noon. They could use potatoes, yams, corn, green beans, stuffing, canned goods, etc. Every donation is important and VERY much appreciated.

NOVEMBER 15th:   FULL FALL PLANTING REQUIRED.  In addition, all TOMATO, PEPPERS & EGGPLANTS must be completely removed from November 15th through March 1. We give the garden a 3-month rest from these plants to reduce disease and encourage clean up. The gardens will be reviewed after November 15th to check for removal of these plants and to check that all plots are fully planted.

LEAVING THE GARDEN?  Please notify Nancy Bernstein, Membership Chair at 562-477-1598 if you plan to end your garden membership.  Note that in order to leave in good standing, it is required that you clear out your plot and return the parking tag(s) and gate opener(s) in the garden mailbox in front of the small barn in the orchard.  Please do not abandon the plot and cause weed problems for your neighbors and a mess for the garden to clean up after you.

SPEED CAUTION:  Again, we are seeing vehicles flying down the roads of LBCG.  The maximum speed is 5 mph.  This is a major safety concern as people can easily slip out between cars.  Excessive speeding can result in a correction notice or loss of membership. You can also be liable for any injuries that result from excessive speed.  Please remember that we have members with abilities issues who use the road for access.

INFORMATION BOARD:  Please watch for information at the gazebo and front entrance bulletin board for updates.

Happy Gardening!
