RENEWAL DATES
Renewal dates and times for 2008 are:  Saturday, June 7th and June 14th from 10 am to 12 noon; Sunday, June 8th and June 14th from 1 pm to 3 pm; Wednesday, June 11th and June 18th from 6 pm to 8 pm.

TOMATO TASTING
A Tomato Festival is held the last Saturday of July.  Members are encouraged to enter different varieties of tomatoes for tasting.  We usually have approximately 30 different varieties.  Members vie for acknowledgement that their tomato is the best tasting tomato for that year.

At the same time we have a picnic with hamburgers/hot dogs and of course fresh grilled vegetables and GREAT TOMATOES for our hamburgers.  We also have a free door prize (one ticket per plot) drawing for garden tools (many unique), plants and other garden paraphernalia.

For the past two years we have also had a salsa contest.  Members enter their favorite salsa, with recipe cards, to be judge.   The membership then tastes and votes for the one they liked the best and the one with the most votes wins and the recipe is published in the next Newsletter. All must watch out as the salsa could be too hot but then again you may like a HOT salsa.  We also have many mild or just right salsas to taste.  All are marked as to the degree of heat of them.  You are welcome to take a recipe card for any or all that you like.

PLANT SALES
There is a spring and fall plant sale where members may purchase different varieties of plants for that season.   In the spring we have tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and squash and in the fall we have cabbages (red and green), broccoli and cauliflower.  A lot of the plants sold are varieties that have been trialed in our own Trial Garden.

WORK PARTIES
Work parties are normally the first Saturday of the month (subject to change) with dates posted on the large board at the front of the garden.   They are from 7:30 am to 9:30 am.

Each gardener must have four hours of community service a year before they renew their membership in June.

ELECTIONS
Officers and Directors shall be elected to serve terms of one year from July 1st to June 30th or until their successors take office.  The Nominating Committee will present a slate of candidates for elective office at the Annual General Meeting.  Officers and Directors shall be elected by secret ballot.  If there is any   nomination from the floor, the nominee must be present to accept or decline.  The Annual General Meeting will be held on a Saturday in June.
